The Spark of Hope
A poem of my thoughts on Kamala Harris for President
Do you feel that spark now too?
Seven days ago, it all felt so bleak.
So much can change in a week.
A leader can chose his country over his pride.
And a new contender can spark hope
For a new path forward.
We the people can help pave that path.
Black women led the way, like they always do,
And put out the call to action.
But this time,
Black men, South Asian women,
The Queer community,
White women
All answered that call.
We white women broke ZOOM1.
Monday night, all women will come together
To break ZOOM again.
White men will try too.
Even Gen Z seems all in,
Ready for this Brat summer
And this femininomenon!2
Together, we can win. We must.
For reproductive rights, for LGBTQ+ rights,
For a ceasefire in Gaza,
For the environment, for freedom.
We are not going back.
